Monday night saw high winds that blew large quantities of sand onto Meols Parade. This is to be expected on any beach front promenade, but last night's wind left large deposits of sand in the road and in driveways, so much so that diggers had to be deployed to clear the sand... 
[ DIggers work hard to clear the sand from the road, pavements and driveways ]

Last night, Meols Parade and Hoylake Promenade was possibly not the best place to park a car, as several were covered in a generous helping of sand this morning. At a glance, you might be forgiven for thinking we'd had a flurry of snow, but on closer inspection a drive down the promenade revealed how much sand had been blown up onto the road, pavements and into several driveways.
